Neophyte's Journal;The Poisoned Scribes
“I watched them spin…
Crimson flames
and
Cerulean frost.
In their dance, I saw a mirror of the mind:
light bending, realms bleeding, and time deforming.”

The Dance of The Bleeding Suns
POSTED August 3, 2025
The Binary Suns
At the center of our dying sky burns two suns, eternally bound in orbit around a collapsed shadow — a black hole, ancient and unmoving.
One sun is smaller and crimson, pulsing like a dying heart. The other is icy blue, massive and cold, luminous in its silence.
Together, they rotate in a doomed ballet, locked in gravitational tension.
This isn’t fantasy alone. It’s a nod to real binary star systems — common in our universe.
Over half the stars visible in the night sky are actually part of multi-star systems. Their dual gravity affects everything: the shape of planetary orbits, the nature of light, and even Eclipse Dynamics.
🪐 The Planetary Dance
Three planets rotate on the same orbital plane, forming the inner trine.
Of these, one planet—further out—takes longer to complete its journey, and passes between the two suns during its cycle. This moment is sacred to some, catastrophic to others. It’s the origin of the eclipse rites.
The fourth planet is an anomaly:
With a rare polar orbit (📚 also called an orthogonal or inclined orbital configuration), it travels at a 90° angle to the rest.
This orientation disrupts gravitational forces, introducing unstable waves, irregular eclipses, and moments of temporal flux:
- Binary Mergers
- Tidal Forces and Kozai Oscillations
- Formation Channels
- Exoplanet Systems
Even in astrophysics, such orbital misalignments can lead to unpredictable phenomena;
…enough to simulate the appearance of “magic”.
These anomalies, in The Divine Poison, are more than math; they’re the gateway through which madness seeps, and through which forgotten gods speak.
🌌 The Rift Between Order and Chaos
The convergence of:
- Binary stars
- A planet with a skewed axial tilt
- The presence of a singularity (black hole)
This creates a zone where time, radiation, and magnetic force do not behave consistently.
In theoretical astrophysics, regions of overlapping stellar and gravitational forces—like this system—would generate Lagrangian chaos, lensing effects, and temporal distortions.
In The Divine Poison, these translate into:
- Fractures in memory and vision
- A spiral-shaped perception of time
- The bleeding suns dim and distort the realms
- A cosmos where truth and delusion bleed into one another
Double Suns, More & Longer Eclipses
On planets orbiting binary star systems, eclipses aren’t rare, In fact, they’re common and often prolonged (eclipsing binary system);
Why Eclipses Increase in Binary Systems
- The two suns orbit one another, so one can eclipse the other regularly.
- If they’re closely bound (within 1 AU), eclipses can occur monthly, or even weekly depending on orbital alignment.
- When the darker planet (or one sun) passes between them, the result is longer, more dramatic Eclipses, which is ideal for cults, rituals, and world-ending omens.
