🌑 The Five Stages of a Solar Eclipse


Throughout the ages, an eclipse was not merely a celestial event — it was a Divine Omen, a rupture in time. 

In The Divine Poison, the eclipse reigns as a trigger for madness, transformation, and blood rituals. 

Understanding its real-world reverence begins with nature itself:

Stages of Eclipse

  1. First Contact (🌔) – The Moon begins to obscure the Sun.
    In ancient Babylon, this moment marked the beginning of sacrificial chants to Marduk, meant to protect the king.
  2. Second Contact (🌒) – Totality nears.
    In Mesoamerican cultures, drums and blood rites would escalate. Mayans believed the jaguar god swallowed the Sun.
  3. Totality (🌑) – Darkness reigns. Ritual frenzy.
    In some Persian Zoroastrian ceremonies, it was thought that Angra Mainyu (destructive spirit) had pierced the world.
  4. Third Contact (🌘) – The veil lifts slightly.
    Ancient Romans often released criminals during this phase — fearing divine retaliation.
  5. Fourth Contact (🌖) – Light returns.
    In Arabia, the Ka’bah’s triple-goddess priestesses would wail, signaling the gods’ retreat.
 
 

🌌 In The Divine Poison, the “Reign of Eclipse” is the only time the Veil thins — when the corrupt threads of fate twist freely, and the suns bleed. It is not an alignment.

It is when the Shadows Roam Unmatched and Unrivaled.

 

🔺 The Triple Goddess — and the Fragmented Moon

The Triple Goddess — Maiden, Mother, Crone — is one of the oldest known archetypes, present in Greek (Hecate), Celtic (Morrígan), Hindu (Kali/Durga), and even Abrahamic subtext (as dark temptresses, virgins, or mourning figures). Her triadic nature reflects the phases of the moon, and by extension, the emotional choreography of an eclipse:

  • 🌒 Maiden: Anticipation, purity, sacrifice
  • 🌕 Mother: Fertility, nurture, chaos
  • 🌘 Crone: Wisdom, death, transcendence

 

Carl Jung linked this to the collective unconscious, while in The Divine Poison, the Reign of Eclipse gives rise to the dark rituals – inspired by human history – that are bound to misinterpretation, and fanaticism.

🏛 Eclipse Worship: From Byzantium to Sasanian Persia

Al-Lāt, Al-‘Uzza, and Manāt were central to the political and religious cosmology of Mecca and Ta’if. Even in early Islam, they remained controversial symbols — dark feminine forces too powerful to be forgotten.

The symbols come from a mix of pre-Christian European paganism, Celtic spirituality, and later Wiccan/neo-pagan traditions and have a very deep root across many cultures.

They are tied by cyclicality, duality, and balance among nature, divinity, and humans.

  • Blessing Moon – Often linked to lunar worship in ancient fertility cults, representing cycles of growth, renewal, and divine protection.
  • Triple Spiral (Triskelion) – A Celtic symbol from Neolithic times, found at sites like Newgrange (Ireland). It represents life cycles, motion, and interconnectedness (land, sea, sky).
 
  • Horned God – Symbol of male divinity in Wicca, associated with Pan (Greek) or Cernunnos (Celtic). Represents nature, fertility, and wilderness.
 
A pentagram is the basic five-pointed star shape, while a pentacle is a pentagram enclosed within a circle. In modern Paganism and Wicca, the pentagram symbolizes the five elements (earth, air, fire, water, and spirit), and when these elements are enclosed by the circle of the pentacle, it signifies their harmonious connection within the universe.
  • Pentacle – A pentagram (five-pointed star) within a circle, used since Mesopotamia and later in Greek mysticism. Represents protection, balance of elements (earth, air, fire, water, spirit).
 
  • Pentagram – Older than the pentacle, appearing in Babylonian and Pythagorean traditions. Later adopted in magical and esoteric systems as a sign of harmony.
 
  • Triquetra – Celtic knot representing eternity and the “triple” concept: life-death-rebirth, maiden-mother-crone, or past-present-future. Later adapted by Christianity as the Trinity.
 
Solar Cross – One of the oldest human symbols, appearing in Bronze Age carvings. Represents the sun, seasons, and cycles of time.
Hecate’s Wheel – Associated with the goddess Hecate, representing the crossroads, fate, and the mysteries of the underworld and magic.

The Triple Moon symbol depicts a full moon in the center, with a waxing crescent on one side and a waning crescent on the other. It represents the three phases of the Moon and the Triple Goddess (Maiden, Mother, Crone), symbolizing birth, life, and death/rebirth, and is a significant symbol in Paganism and Wicca.

  • Spiral Goddess – A modern Wiccan symbol of divine feminine energy, birth, creation, and cosmic cycles. Spirals are prehistoric symbols of life force.
 
The Seax Wica symbol represents the sun, the moon, and the eight Wiccan sabbats within a circle, with specific variations existing for the deity Woden. The tradition, founded by Raymond Buckland, is a modern form of Wicca inspired by Anglo-Saxon paganism but is not a reconstructionist path.

There isn't a single "ancient Sumerian eclipse tablet," but rather, the term refers to a body of ancient Mesopotamian (including Sumerian and Babylonian) cuneiform tablets that record astronomical observations, particularly those related to the predictable patterns of lunar eclipses, which were used for astrological divination. The earliest such tablets from the Old Babylonian period (early 2nd millennium BCE) contain omens based on lunar eclipses, while later examples from the Seleucid period (4th–2nd century BCE) detail eclipse ephemerides and predictive tables.

Hacate

Hecate (/ˈhɛkəti/ ⓘ HEK-ə-tee;Ancient Greek: Ἑκάτη)[a] is a goddess in ancient Greek religion and mythology, most often shown holding a pair of torches, a key, or snakes, or accompanied by dogs, and in later periods depicted as three-formed or triple-bodied. She is variously associated with crossroads, night, light, magic, witchcraft, drugs, and the Moon.

Pre Islamic Goddesses Al-Lat, Al-Uzza, Manat

In the Qur’an, Al-Lat is mentioned along with al-‘Uzzá and Manāt in Sura 53:19–23. The tribe of ʿād of Iram of the Pillars is also mentioned in Sura 89:5–8, and archaeological evidence from Iram shows copious inscriptions devoted to her for the protection of a tribe by that name.

In 1929, Lewis Brown, an expert on religious cults, connected the 1920s Blackburn Cult (also known as, "The Cult of the Great Eleven,") with Hecate worship rituals. He noted that the cult regularly practiced dog sacrifice and had secretly buried the body of one of its "queens" with seven dogs.

🧠  Shadows of the Eclipse

Psychologist Philip Zimbardo coined the “Lucifer Effect” — how ordinary individuals turn evil in the 'right' conditions.


An eclipse is one such condition: disruption of light, loss of clarity, emotional arousal, and tribal fear.

In The Divine Poison, when the suns vanish, those hidden in dissimulation unleash their prudent fears. 

The question becomes:

“Did the poison awaken them… or it merely revealed what lies beyond the veil of the Divine?”

The eclipse is not a shadow.
It is a mirror;

Reflecting what we Worship,

What we Fear, and

What we become in Darkness.

Shadows come to life, as the Eclipse lingers.
